Haleem Masala

Haleem is one of the best and most scrumptious Desi dishes of Pakistan authentically made in Middle East and sub continent. It is warm dish made from cereal and meat. Haleem is originally made in big pits called Daigh but you can make it at home as well by using Milan Foods Haleem Masala to get restaurant like taste and flavors.

Ingredients

  • Red Chili
  • Turmeric
  • Small Cardamom
  • Cloves
  • Mace
  • Nutmeg
  • Cumin
  • Cinnamon
  • Laurel
  • Black Pepper
  • Salt
  • Star Anise

Cooking ingredients

  • Meat (boneless) 1 kg
  • Onion sliced 1
  • Ghee/oil 2 cups
  • Mix Pulses and Grains 2 kg
  • Milan Foods Haleem Masala 1 packet

Cooking instructions

  • Fry meat in one cup oil and add Milan Foods Haleem Masala for few minutes.
  • Add soaked pulses and grain mix and add 12 to 15 glasses of water and cook it on very low flame for 4 to 6 hours until everything become tender.
  • Stir occasionally.
  • Blend mixture to a coarse paste with a wooden spoon, do not use an electric grinder and do not grind it into a fine paste.
  • Fry sliced onion in remaining one cup of oil/ghee until golden. Stir it into the Haleem.
  • Cover Haleem pot and cook on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Serve with Milan Chaat Masala, fried onion, green chilies, coriander, sliced ginger and lemon juice.
